Cumorah's Bday party....

So we had a little celebration for our little Cumorah. In Hawaii the 1st birthday's are particularly special and usually pretty huge. We were in the middle of transition when Talitha turned one and did not plan her a big party. We decided to do one for Cumorah because she is the 2nd child. Talitha has a really outgoing personality and she was the first grandchild on my side. So there was a lot of hype around her. I feel like I really wanted to give Cumorah a special birthday party and let her know that we love her just the same as Talitha even though it has been so much harder for me to take pictures of her and pay attention to her growth having two around. So the theme was butterflies and I must say the decorations were really cute. This was the envelope box (can)....
My Aunty Vai did the center pieces and everyone loved them. The butterfly lollipops were bought from oriental trading company and Aunty Vai put them on straws for height.
There were butterfly confetti down the center of the tables (ebay!!) and Kauwe, U'i, and Kelli did the balloons. Good thing Kauwe has 6 girls and is super pro at balloons. He made two balloon towers on either side of the stage and ballloon clusters around the cultural hall. A friend called me the day before the party and even lent us a helium tank. We used some leftover decorations and favor boxes from my brothers wedding and were able to save a lot of money that way. We had 3 games: A ring toss, balloon guys, and an artist.

How cute is this picture the artist drew of Cumorah and he included Cumorah's name and the date on the corner of each drawing. Aunty Karmen did the cake...can you see the cute little butterfly candles...
Cumorah had a blast and wasn't fuss at all during the party. We had a "guess how many goldfish jar", an interactive video game of guessing where Cumorah was in the pictures shown, I created a slide show, a who knows Cumorah best game, and a married men guessing game (this was fun because all the men chosen had daughters and they had to guess Cumorah's shoe size, diaper size, and signature cry). It was a really fun/exhausting night!

In the first photo Cumorah is eating a butterfly sugar cookie that my sister-in-law Isa hand made...you can't see them well but the cookies were really colorful and beautiful!

What an amazing party! Both your girls are absolutely adorable, and Andria! Congrats on your grad school scholarship and good luck! I don't know if I can handle all the red at the top of your blog, though--maybe you should do something about that. :)

This video and blog really makes me homesick... and I barely ever even feel that way. We miss seeing you guys, and everyone else at the party too, for that matter. Kaylani & fam, Justin & Shawna, and on and on. Who would've thought that Kauwe was a balloon man in disguise? We only got to see him and fam once, that I remember- when we lived in HI. Ahhh, thank you for those happy pics!
